Why Waikato DHB?
"Meaning? Complexity? Challenge? It's hard to imagine a more important HR gig than health. If you are ready to make a difference for people who really make a difference, have a strong track record in creating excellence, and hold people at the heart of everything you do - come join us at Waikato DHB and be part of the Waikato's most exciting organisational change." Gil Sewell, Executive Director HR & OD
Healthcare is arguably the most important sector in the life of our nation. Many organisations claim to make a difference to the lives of New Zealanders; at Waikato District Health Board we truly do, providing rural, urban and regional health and disability services and some national services too. Waikato's population is diverse and dynamic and demands the highest levels of care from its primary, secondary and tertiary health services. Our environment is fascinating, stimulating and challenging; we work alongside some of the most passionate, talented and specialised people in the world.
About the Role
We're looking for a senior HR practitioner with a breadth of experience.
We aspire to healthy people, excellent care through productive partnerships and people-centred services and our people strategy is all about putting our people at the heart of everything we do. This role will build a Data, Systems and Workforce team to support us to achieve that. We've never had a specialised data, systems and workforce team before and we work under tight constraints, so you will apply your experience and creativity to taking this work to the next level.

You are creative, pragmatic, resilient and collaborative, with experience in complex environments with multiple concurrent programmes of work. You bring strong relationship, partnering and influencing skills to build trust quickly, and end-to-end attraction to retention expertise. Strong commercial acumen is essential.
We are a values based and inclusive organisation that is committed to deliver the best health outcomes for our total population. To do this we are working hard to develop a robust and capable workforce that reflects the population we serve. We strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds with the necessary capability and who share our values to apply and would greatly value seeing more applicants from our Maori communities.
