The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for a management accountant who enjoys a finance/ accounting role where you will have a broad range of responsibilities and plenty of opportunity to add value. What you'll bring to the table Through effective time management and communication you will provide accounting and administration support contributing to a sustainable and profitable business. Your focus will be to ensure the finance and administrative needs of the operational business are met working alongside the Accounting/Finance Managers. Responsibilities ad duties: Review in detail and assist with cost to completes Preparing monthly accounts and P&L reviews for various divisions and departments Providing detailed job/department variance and margin analysis Processing project claims as required Assisting departments with monthly profit forecasting Maintain accuracy of job costing. Check and process recodes where necessary, ensuring that journal descriptions give accurate details for cost review processes Prepare Financial Reporting and other ad hoc reports as required in a clear and timely manner, including financial statements, reconciliations and investigation, forecasts and other comparative reporting requirements Provide Leadership, support and guidance to the Administration Team Be a proactive member of Project Governance boards and attend project/department reviews Preparing Annual budgets alongside Project/Department Managers Actively involved in the Year End process Providing relevant data analysis and interpretation to engineers and management staff To promote and improve accounting, financial and administrative efficiencies Proactively deliver training to management, engineers, and contracting staff on all management reports and business tools Maintain written procedures / checklists for all aspects of the position Adhere to Fulton Hogan Accounting and Reporting timetables Oversee invoicing and credit control. Ensure overdue amounts are pursued and all reasonable action is taken to collect amounts owed Manage capital, ensuring that capex forms are completed and authorized in line with delegated authorities You will also contribute in any other duties or projects that are reasonably requested Experience and attributes: Appropriate tertiary qualification and/or equivalent/relevant knowledge CA or CPA qualified Strong technical accounting knowledge (accounting standards, legislation and practices) Working knowledge of broad business, commercial practices and contractual law Strong analytical skills and ability to review and critique financial information Experience in providing finance advice across an organisation What's in it for you We have a great team culture and supportive work environment here in Fulton Hogan.
