The opportunity
The Management Accountant is part of the Finance Team that contributes towards the achievement of the organisation's goals by providing specialised financial advice and analytical support to the rest of the business.
In this role, you will partner with key business group leaders and managers to provide trusted budgeting and financial analysis, interpretation and advice and using your exceptional analysis skills to identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies in business processes and systems. You will be a self-starter and be capable of conveying complex information whilst building position relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of council.
The diversity of our business is complex and provides plenty of challenges for a person looking to take the next step in their accounting career and move into a leadership position within a fun and friendly finance team.
The position is based in the sub-tropical city of Whangarei, about two hours' drive north of Auckland, however flexible/remote working arrangements may be considered.
Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate should hold a tertiary level accounting qualification and ideally be aChartered Accountant and member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.You will have at least 5 years of practical experience within a financial environment, ideally previous experience operating as a management accountant and has advanced knowledge of financial and management accounting.
Building relationships is a key function of this role. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, speak their language, influence and when necessary, challenge in a constructive way.
