Management Accountant

Permanent Full time working 40 hours Monday to Friday

We have a vacancy for an experienced Management Accountant within the Napier City Council Corporate Directorate.
Reporting to the Strategic Finance Advisor, this key finance role liaises across all Council directorates to ensure the preparation and delivery of all management accounting reports.
Other responsibilities include:
Asset Maintenance including valuations, capitalisation of assets in an accurate and timely manner
Effective monitoring, analysis and regular reporting on actuals against budgets
Assisting and managers on procedures, accounting treatment and asset classification and depreciation rates
Ensuring accurate data capture within the financial system for the Annual Plan, Long Term Plan, budget reviews and forecasting
To be considered for this role, you will have:
A tertiary qualification in accounting together with membership of a relevant professional association
Relevant experience in a senior accounting position (5+ years)
Advanced knowledge of financial and management accounting
In addition, you will be a highly organised individual with proven ability to meet deadlines and manage stress. You will have strong people skills to obtain cooperation between different business units in order to meet the timelines set. Working with Local Government would be desirable but not essential.
