As part of the IHG Hotels and Resorts family, we are committed to excellence and sustainability in everything we do.This role involves working on a 7-day, 24-hour roster, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
The annual salary for this role is $75,000.00.Role Overview:We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team and assist with essential repairs and upkeep.
You will report directly to the Assistant Hotel Manager.
Your responsibilities include carrying out minor repairs and maintenance work within the hotel in a timely and professional manner, leading the maintenance team, and supporting the hotel team to adhere to IHG brand standards and local government regulations concerning hotel emergency procedures, safety, and other regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate the maintenance team, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment, identifying areas in need of repair or attention.Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations and environmental standards.Manage preventative maintenance schedules and address reactive repairs promptly.Collaborate with other departments to resolve maintenance-related issues.Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ordering as necessary.Assist with planning and executing larger-scale maintenance projects.Provide leadership and training to maintenance staff, fostering a positive and motivated team environment.What We're Looking For:Strong knowledge of building systems, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong leadership and communication abilities.Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.A positive, proactive attitude and a passion for providing excellent guest service.Health and Safety certifications or equivalent preferred.Experience managing departmental budgets, overseeing stock levels, and ensuring compliance with audit and cost-efficiency goals.Build positive relationships with team members and participate in meetings and training sessions.Conduct inspections of guest rooms and public areas, addressing maintenance needs promptly and professionally.Coordinate tasks such as patching, painting, replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance scheduling.Champion health and safety practices, including fire and emergency protocols, and monitor compliance with IHG brand safety standards.Skills & Requirements:At least one year of proven experience in a maintenance supervisory/managerial role, preferably in the hospitality industry.Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent guest service.Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently within a team-focused environment.Knowledge of Safe Work practices and WH&S standards.Strong time management skills and a trade qualification (preferred but not required).Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within a hotel setting.What We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work with a global brand that supports your career development.A dynamic, supportive team environment.Discounted rates at IHG hotels worldwide.A stunning location in Queenstown, offering a beautiful work environment and outdoor lifestyle.Why Work With Us?At Holiday Inn Express & Suites Queenstown, you'll be part of a dedicated team passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences.
