APD Ltd is a leading designer & manufacturer of Stormwater and Chemical Storage solutions for the NZ and Australian markets. We are a solutions based business providing products designed to deliver exactly what our customer needs. APD is an NZ owned company that has been providing high quality solutions in plastics for over 35 years.
We are now looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to take on this challenging sole charge role located in Wiri.
As the Maintenance Fitter you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous production operation by scheduling and completing the maintenance and repair of our machines and equipment. You will be involved in undertaking improvements to the equipment as part of our continuous improvement activities including the installation and commissioning of new machines and equipment.
Your day to day tasks will include:
Managing the preventative maintenance requirements on all plant and machinery.
Liaising with suppliers and other companies on the use of spare parts/tooling.
Ensuring all the paperwork is completed in a timely and professional manner.
Undertaking improvements to plant and equipment.

You will have:
A valid work visa, NZ residency or NZ citizenship.
A minimum of 3 year's experience in engineering/maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
You will be a trade qualified fitter/turner (New Zealand recognised).
Sound knowledge of engineering practices.
Mechanical problem-solving skills.
Experience in pneumatics.
Experience in hydraulics and/or electrical fault finding will be an advantage.
Previous welding experience in either plastics or steel would be an advantage.

In addition, you will have excellent communication skills and have a proactive approach in your work. You will have the ability to problem-solve and make decisions quickly. You will need to be organised, self-managing, communicative, and naturally motivated.
