Lower School Music Assistant
Part-time, Permanent, FTTE up to: 0.2
Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher
We have a 0.2 position for a skilled and committed musician to join our staff, supporting music in our Lower School classes (Y1–8).
Music is a cornerstone of the Steiner curriculum and is present throughout each class in the form of recorder playing and singing.
Primary responsibilities of the role include:
Facilitating our violin programme for students in Classes 3 & 4 (Y4–5).
Arranging suitable music to accommodate mixed instrumentation and ability levels.
You will be delivering lessons to groups of students (half classes).
Our ideal candidate will be a strings specialist with strong musical & pedagogical knowledge and ensemble leadership skills.
Knowledge and/or practical experience of orchestral wind & brass instruments, alongside music education models of El Sistema and/or Orff Schulwerk, would be an advantage.
