This is a full time permanent (civ) position
What you will do
You will be responsible for delivering quality, timely and cost effective equipment support and will manage all in-service aspects regarding the acquisition, through life management and disposal of the Light Vehicles which includes; light operational vehicles, domestic operational vehicles, light trailers and motorcycles.
What we need
A Fleet Manager that has a strong understanding of the motor transport industry, including knowledge around the statutory requirements for motor vehicles and insurance, and vehicle fleet management best practice.
You will require a good understanding of fleet procurement, integrated logistics support, fleet optimisation and disposal.
Your skills in leadership, problem solving, risk management and prioritisation will be crucial to your success in this role, as well as a high level of attention to detail, experience in the use of a corporate ERP system (such as SAP or Oracle). Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical language and complex information into effective communications.
Who we are
The Defence Equipment Management Organisation (DEMO) will provide a single point of accountability for the through-life management of non-platform equipment across the Land, Air and Maritime environments thereby ensuring that all equipment receives consistent strategic logistic support whilst in service within the NZDF.
This organisation will be accountable for the day to day delivery of strategic management of equipment and the associated through life Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) enabling NZDF to meet its business and operational objectives to the appropriate standards.
