The Organisation NZIIU has been one of the leading charitable organisations promoting international understanding through programmes that encourage educational and cultural exchange for more than two decades The Role Liaison Officer Due to the growing number of our clients we are currently on the hunt for a competent liaison officer for the more efficient operation of our inbound programme department This is a fulltime position Job description Fostering and maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with stakeholders including but not limited to schools local student advisers host families domestic and overseas business partners clinics and professionals Provide the best solution to clients in need of logistical help by collaborating with the people inside and outside the organisation Offer counselling and pastoral care to clients by telephone and or face to face Ensuring that clients and their parents are issued all the necessary paperwork relating to school in a timely manner by contacting appropriate persons Direct coordinate and empower local advisers for incidents or inconvenience Visiting homestay families and schools for evaluation and inspection purposes Giving settlement lectures and holding meetings with clients of up to 30 people Coordinating with accommodation transport rental and tour companies to ensure clients have a stressfree travel at the airport and during cultural trips Mediate any issues during stay to derive the best solution Preparing comprehensive event incident reports to the manager Updating the website to best represent our company Essential At least 5 years of relevant work experience or tertiary qualification Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Excellent negotiation and counselling skills Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritise work Attention to detail and problemsolving skills Strong organisational and planning skills Proficiency in MS Office and website maintenance Willing to work overtime weekends and public holidays if required Excellent with customer service Knowledge in NZ secondary tertiary and international education Can work under pressure Highly advantageous The ability to communicate in Japanese both written and oral Experience studying at a NZ high school Previous work experience in the NZ education industry Hold a valid NZ drivers licence The successful candidate may be required to undergo a preemployment drug test and submit a clean criminal record Applications close 12 pm on Friday 7 February 2020 Please note that all applications are reviewed but only shortlisted candidates will be contacted The successful candidate would ideally start effective immediately
