Legislative Counsel Inland Revenue s Policy and Strategy Group is looking for a lawyer to join the tax law drafting unit to assist in the delivery of the New Zealand Government s tax policy work programme Our Policy Strategy group advises the Government on all aspects of tax policy We are a multidisciplinary team of professionals that includes lawyers accountants and economists with policy development and or significant taxtechnical skills and experience We have an incredibly busy work programme and to support this we need additional legislative drafting and planning capability As part of our team you will be involved in the drafting of revenue legislation administered by Inland Revenue The work involves drafting provisions to give effect to the Government s tax policy decisions for inclusion in tax bills tax provisions for inclusion in other Government bills and assisting with the progressing of all such bills to enactment The level at which we appoint someone will reflect their skills and experience Our Policy and Strategy group supports people to work flexibly and to have balance in their working lives We embrace and encourage diversity and are have introduced inclusive practices to ensure that all of our people are confident to be themselves at work Policy and Strategy is committed to strengthening M ori Crown relationships under Te Tiriti o Waitangi the Treaty of Waitangi To apply please click on the apply button below and attach your CV and cover letter outlining the skills and experience you will bring to this role and why you are the perfect candidate For more information please contact Kim McGregor on 04 8901777 The role closes on 10 March 2020 at 5pm
