Te Takinatanga - Our Story

Kainga Ora - Homes and Communities brings together the three existing agencies of Housing New Zealand, HLC and KiwiBuild to form a new organisation.
We do amazing, important work. We contribute to thriving communities that provide New Zealanders with good quality, affordable homes. Our work supports people to have good access to jobs, amenities and services; as well as improving the wellbeing of current and future generations. We do this by being a world class public housing provider, and partnering with others to deliver urban development projects.
Our Legal Team
Our Legal Team is currently expanding to meet the demands of managing a growing property portfolio of more than 60,000 properties, valued at over $26.7 billion. Increasingly, as an organisation we are becoming more involved in exciting, ground-breaking property developments, special projects and associated construction work, which deliver housing to those most in need. These functions complement an active, nationwide land acquisition programme.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic legal executive, who wants to make a real difference, to join our Auckland team. In return we are offering support and growth, flexible working arrangements, not to mention the opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team which includes five legal executives as well as lawyers in property and construction.

As a Kainga Ora - Homes and Communities employee, we want to make sure that you have all the tools and support you need. We want to ensure you are healthy and have work-life balance. We also want to support and grow your personal and career development through on-the-job learning, training courses, secondments and study opportunities.
