About us
The School of International Studies, situated in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Spanish Studies to teach and research in this area.
In this role, you will:
Teach cultural studies or social science subjects with a focus on Spain and/or Spanish cultures and societies including contemporary cultural or social theory/practice
Participate in the research and scholarly activities of the Faculty and develop your own research program;
Supervise research students, ensuring successful completions and quality of results;
Contribute to School research output by producing scholarly publications and generating research funding;
Participate in administrative duties, program and subject coordination.

About you
The successful candidate will join the team, where you will teach and research in Spanish Studies whilst also participating in a range of external engagement activities.

To be successful in applying for this role, you will have the following essential criterial:
A high level proficiency in Spanish and English
Demonstrated successful experience in teaching study abroad (Spain) programs, including supervision of undergraduate projects
Ability to teach into other subjects in the other International Studies and Global Studies suite of subjects, and in other study-abroad Majors (Latin Americas)
Doctoral qualification in an area related to the position
While not essential, candidates that can demonstrate the following will be highly desirable:
Additional qualifications in language and culture pedagogy
Experience in subject and program coordination
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range:$102,952to $121,849pa (Level B)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension)in additionto the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
