This role is a full-time and continuing (i.e., permanent) position. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching and research in education, with a possible teacher education focus in the primary education sector. Mou | Who You Are Applicants must provide demonstrated evidence of successful teaching and research in areas that align with the needs of Te Kura Whakangungu Kaiako | School of Teacher Education, such as culturally responsive and sustainable teaching, learning and research, Akoranga Maori, Maori Education, Matauranga Maori, te reo acquisition, or teacher learning and development. The person appointed to this position must meet the following selection criteria: A research agenda aligned with equity-based educational practices in education with emphasis on Maori success; Research experience beyond doctoral study, as evidenced in publications or conference presentations; Confidence in working with local iwi and runanga together with an active commitment to upholding values, tikanga, kawa, and traditions as guided by Ngai Tuahuriri, the mana whenua; Proficiency in te reo Maori; Experience teaching at a tertiary level; The ability to integrate digital technologies into course design and teaching. The following are preferred qualities of prospective applicants: Hold a doctoral degree preferrable or be engaged in pursuing a doctoral degree; New Zealand teacher registration; Experience of teaching online; Please note the role is based in Christchurch; applicants would need to demonstrate their interest in relocating if not already based here.
