Job Description

We are looking for a Lecturer, Bachelor of Education (Primary, Pacific) with a real passion for adult education to join our team. This role will continue the development of a visionary new programme based on school based initial teacher education to graduate qualified teachers who can support bilingual and mainstream learning. Working closely with partner schools and other invested parties to deliver a programme to be taught from 2021 (pending approval)
We offer level 5, 6 and 7 programmes aimed at Tertiary Teaching, Literacy and Numeracy, eLearning and Activity Based Learning and more exciting developments.
What will I be doing?
Support and continue the development work on a Bachelor or Education Initial Teacher Education programme to meet NZQA and the Teaching Council of Aotearoa requirements
Developing teaching content, resources & assessment within the programme to facilitate high learner engagement in a blended environment
Maintain currency of practice through active research, professional development and/or further study
Engaging and connecting with our external and internal stakeholders
What are we looking for?
A minimum of a Master’s degree relevant in Education – eg MEd, MEdLd, MEdPrac, MTch
Current Full New Zealand Drivers Licence
Current Full Certification with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand
Minimum 5 years of experience in working with young people in school/s catering to learners across years 0-8 and their families in senior school leadership role/s (or alike)
Ability to speak a Pacific language and experience in teaching and leading immersion and/or bilingual classrooms
Wide network of Pacific cultural contacts within and outside of Education (Primary and Intermediate Schools)
Experience working with adult learners would be advantageous
