We have a fantastic opportunity for two highly skilled trade qualifiedCarpentersto join our team as aLecturer.
You don't need to have teaching experience as we will guide and support you, but what you will need is a genuine passion for student success. You'll be someone who is naturally engaging and approachable and who enjoys bringing out the best in others. You'll get huge satisfaction from passing your knowledge on.
You'll spend time in the classroom teaching theory, but most of our learning is done through practical, hands-on experience. Most of your teaching time will be on building sites, or in our well-equipped workshops within our purpose built trades building. You'll be involved with house construction, site management and building compliance.
Some of your key duties will include:
Supervision of practical activities.
Preparations to ensure the timely completion of house build.
Management of building site.
Timely procurement of materials.
Contributing to development and implementation of a coherent portfolio of industry relevant courses.
Participating in quality and compliance activities
Our pre-trade students build new houses on-campus, which are sold to the public once completed. Our students who are already in the trade, or ready to start their apprenticeship, can undertake the necessary level 4 carpentry training with us, and work towards their qualification and industry registration.
You'll have industry experience and may hold (or be working toward) a LBP. You'll be confident communicating with a wide range of people and have strong industry networks.
