What you will do
As the Learning Instructor for Defence Security, you will be part of a small, highly committed team who develop and deliver security training programmes. The focus of this role is to deliver effective training, education, and awareness programmes to enhance the NZDF's security culture.
The key responsibilities include:
Delivering face to face specialised security training across the country;
Engaging with personnel across all three services and non-uniform staff members;
Coordinating with the NZ Defence College to manage training administration; and
Implementing learning solutions in collaboration with a range of learning professionals and subject matter experts across the organisation.
Please note:This role is required to regularly travel domestically to conduct training courses and events; therefore you must have a clean full driver's licence.
What we neeD
You will have extensive experience delivering training, instruction, or facilitation to a diverse range of adult learners within a classroom setting. You will be able to work autonomously, at pace, and able to engage with a wide range of different people to deliver effective training.
You will also have:
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical or complex information easily;
The ability to work independently, autonomously and be able to make decisions using sound judgement;
Adaptability to adjust content to relate to the target audience; and
A sound working knowledge of learning theory, instructional design practices, and educational evaluation.
Ideally, you will bring relevant experience in protective security, intelligence, and / or the NZ Defence Force to this role.

is a citizen of,and/or has resided continuouslyin one or more of the following countries for the last10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA;andhas a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
