Details of the offer

We're are looking for a curious and talented Learning Designer to come and join the team. The Capability and Development Team is DOC's inhouse function for all things learning. We work with the business to understand what they're missing, we design and develop learning solutions, and then we deliver them!

This particular role will work alongside our Principal Advisor Leadership Support to make sure that we are providing solutions and artefacts for our leadership teams that enable them to effectively do their jobs. A demonstrated proficiency in App and Web development is desired, integrating forms and solutions into existing platforms (e.g. LMS/Engagement tools) and building the reporting interface that allow Leaders to make informed decisions.

You will ensure that we are delivering contemporary and considered design for our learning solutions. You will ensure that our learning solutions are learner centric and stay true to the learning outcomes we've identified.

You will work with our internal customers to take them on the learning design journey and make them feel excited about what we're delivering for them.

You will partner with others in the team to make sure our recommendations on a suitable learning solution meet the need identified and are then developed to the highest of standards. Whether that be from responsive and branching eLearning modules and apps, to workbooks, on the job aids, infographics, webinars, checklists, help sheets, video, motion graphics - the list goes on.

Our workforce is growing and the definition of “workplace” is shifting, our people are distributed nationally and we need our learning design to reflect that.

We are looking for someone with:

a high level of integrity
amazing technical skill
the ability to join the dots creatively
an aptitude for solving problems and taking advantage of opportunities
the ability to work remotely and yet stay connected
a growth mindset who is always focussed on continuous improvement
Experience and skill in design and building learning solutions for distributed workforces.

This role will be a nationally distributed team member. You can work from any location in New Zealand if you have a personal computer with strong internet access. Travel at times will be required. There may be an opportunity to periodically work from a DOC office, depending on your location and the occupancy level of the local offices.

You'll be passionate about people and creating meaningful change. You will be keen to get stuck in to delivering projects in a pragmatic and learner centric way. You will be up to date with best practice and will be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.

Please apply online. Applications must include a cover letter, portfolio submission and CV. Portfolio Submission: Please see the Applicant Information Sheet for further details on this submission.
