Details of the offer

A new opportunity for Connetics means a new opportunity for you. We've just been awarded the first new Field Services Agreement with Aurora Energy to carry out major work on the network in the Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes Districts. And that means we need a Leading Hand Line Mechanic in Central Otago, to be involved in establishing a new branch.
This isn't just any Leading Hand Line Mechanic role. Oh yes, you'll be doing everything you'd expect, and using your technical expertise and leadership experience to the full, but what sets this role apart is Connetics itself.
Based in Central Otago with the main office in Christchurch and another depot in Tawa, Wellington, we're responsible for constructing and maintaining overhead and underground lines and equipment across these locations. Providing such a critical service is no easy task, and we know that to be the best, our people need to be connected, safe, and involved.
At Connetics, you're All Ways Connected to development opportunities, a commitment to your safety, and an approach towards innovation where your input is respected and valued.
If you're a registered Line Mechanic with a current practicing licence, proven supervisory experience, and you have significant experience in overhead line construction and maintenance, this could be the change you've been waiting your whole career for.
We provide (and pay for) all the training and licences you need to do your job, plus any extra education you might need for professional development. You'll also find a great range of staff benefits, including long service leave, allowances, and an employer that understands you have a life outside work. If you're joining us from outside Otago, we'll even consider contributing to relocation costs.
You can look forward to joining a friendly, social team who have a great time together, look out for one another, and are absolutely committed to everyone's safety.
As well as your knowledge of the industry and related regulations, you'll bring strong written and oral English skills, an open mind, and confidence to share new ideas. You'll also be happy for some work-related travel - sometimes you'll have to go where you're needed to maintain and restore networks.
This isn't just about growing your career and living your best life. It's also about having more. More satisfaction, more opportunity, more innovation, more experiences - and more life in a day for the things and people that matter to you.
What will you do with it? Apply online now.
Pre-employment tests - Medical and Ministry of Justice
Connetics require all successful applicants to complete a pre-employment medical test, which includes a drug and alcohol test and a pre-employment Ministry of Justice check.
Overseas applicants
You must be eligible to work in New Zealand, with New Zealand citizenship, New Zealand permanent residency or a valid New Zealand work permit.
Please include evidence of your EWRB certification and any relevant formal qualifications.
