As part of establishing in the Wellington region, Nurse Maude is seeking experienced support workers who would like to take the next step in their career. The position of Lead Support Worker will allow you to utilise your skills in a role that provides mentoring and support to your colleagues. This role would also see you providing relief cover and expert assistance and support to clients in the community.

The Position:
This is a full-time permanent position, working 80 hours per fortnight. With several roles available across the wider Wellington region, you may be required to work across seven days of the week, on a rostered basis, from one of four locations: Wellington, Hutt Valley, Porirua, and Kapiti.
Key Aspects:
You will be working closely with your area team including the Service Coordinator, Case Manager and Community Supervisor, and will:
provide care and support to new clients for approximately 3-6 weeks while their pattern of care is established
provide guidance and mentoring support to fellow community support workers
be fit, focused and friendly in your approach, and confident in your ability as an experienced support worker
ideally have at least two years' recent experience working in the community as a support worker, or similar
Strong communication skills - excellent written and spoken English and basic numeracy
demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
work unsupervised
assist with workplace verification and competency assessment for support workers, undertaking those undertaking training
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will:
hold a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3), or similar
have a current and valid New Zealand driver's licence
have your own reliable transport
Have New Zealand citizenship or residency
be competent in the use of smart phone technology and computers
You will also have the following personal attributes:
A warm and friendly communication style
Patience, resilience and a "can do" attitude in challenging situations
Be a positive team member, working well with others at all levels
