BreastScreen Midland and Waikato DHB are seeking a talented and experienced Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) to lead and manage others in this diverse and interesting position.

This role provides leadership to MITs for the BreastScreen Midland programme and also leads the mammography service in the Breast Care Centre based at Waikato hospital.
This busy and varied position is responsible for managing the MIT and reception staff, and for undertaking all of the Lead MIT duties for the Breast Screening service, which is delivered across the Midland region. These include the quality assurance programme, the recruitment and development of MIT staff, and the leadership of the MIT team. Due to service coverage, some travel will be required.
The role works in close partnership with the Clinical Director, Lead Radiologist, Service Manager and Charge Nurse Manager to support the quality, operational, and strategic planning for the services, and takes a lead role in implementation plans and management of service performance.
Our ideal applicant will have:
- Relevant MIT qualifications
- Demonstrated clinical expertise as a MIT in the Mammography modality
- Attained, or working towards a Post Graduate qualification in Mammography
- High motivation and commitment to providing a quality service
- Motivation and interest in continued quality and service improvement
- Previous management and/or leadership experience
- Openness to innovation and improvements to address equity
