Job Description

Lead Capability Advisor

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Lead Capability Advisor to design leading practice content and delivery solutions for developing our leadership talent pipeline across all levels within the Ministry.
The role
Reporting to the Director Learning and Capability Strategy, within the Human Resources Business Group, a key focus of the role is ensuring there are leading edge, high quality and fit for purpose programmes to develop our emerging leaders from operational and specialist level to senior and executive level practitioners.
Engaging with key internal and external leaders and stakeholders, the Lead Capability Advisor will constructively challenge conventional thinking and assumptions and advocate for new leadership approaches. You will bring thought leadership to the Learning and Capability team, and more widely across the organisation to seek new and innovative ways of grow our capability.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and shape planning and implementation of leadership and management development strategies and initiatives
Proven experience in learning and capability development within a large, complex organisation
Indepth theoretical knowledge of contemporary learning and capability development practice and the necessary knowledge of tools, channels and resources to enable effective delivery
A proven track record of connecting strategic leadership development to operational reality
A sound understanding of the public sector operating environment
