We are committed to providing innovative laboratory services, commercial integrity and delivering service excellence throughout New Zealand.About the role | Mo te turanga:Our Palmerston North laboratory is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Laboratory Technician to join the Molecular/Serology team working 80 hours per fortnight.
This role offers an hourly rate of $29 to $32, depending on the experience of the successful candidate.Key Responsibilities:Perform molecular diagnostics, including RNA/DNA extraction and real-time PCR.Conduct serology tests such as ELISA, CFT, IFAT, and BOVIGAM.Prepare and analyze parasitology samples (fecal exams, larval cultures).Operate biochemistry analyzers and perform sample analysis.Manage specimen reception: labelling, registration, and coordination.Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment; ensure quality control.Adhere to safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.Use LIMS for data entry and reporting.Support inventory management and reagent preparation.About you | He korero mouTo be successful in the role:At least 3 years' experience in a veterinary diagnostic testing laboratory.Ability to absorb, evaluate, and respond to information and ideas in a positive manner.Highly motivated and driven with professional attitude.Ability to work well under pressure and safety and quality conscious.Ability to organise, prioritise and focus on daily work to meet turnaround times.Continuous improvement mind set.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent computer skills.Flexibility to work additional hours when required.Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.A NZ Restricted or Full Driver's licenseWhat's in it for you | He aha mou:You will be joining a friendly, high-performing, and forward-thinking team environment.
