SummaryPerforms a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision.Reports to a Laboratory Supervisor.Responsibilities include receipt, accessioning, centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens, and communicating with clinicians at the Front Window and over the phone.Does this position require Patient Care?
NoEssential Functions-Accurately enters information from requisition (including patient name, unit number, requesting area, time sample drawn, physician's name, tubes received, tests requested, general comments) into computer.-Transfers samples from racks to the centrifuges and to decant station.-Processes ADDs: locates sample, adds tests to original accession, completes ADDs form.-Acts as resource to CLA I and CLA II staff.-Handles special specimens (e.g.
