The Hermitage Hotel is looking for a Stores Person to be based on-site and manage goods received for all departments of the hotel, particularly regarding food and beverage.
In this role, you will be picking and packing, using a forklift, undertaking stock management, performing stock checks, and assisting with stock/inventory.
You will work independently and as part of a team to receive regular goods deliveries effectively and ensure the smooth and safe operation of our stores, including perishables, dry goods, equipment, and waste management.
What you will be doing

Receive and unpack incoming goods.
Pick and pack products for outgoing transfers to all internal departments.
Pick and pack raw ingredients for food & beverage production.
Keep track of stock and assist with stock-takes.
Unload containers of new products arriving.
Check the quality and quantity of goods arriving.
Use a forklift to move stock around the stores and extended property.
Manage recycling and waste materials.
Assist the kitchen and food & beverage teams with additional support as required.
What you will bring to the role

An eye for detail, spatial awareness, and good with numbers.
Understanding of FIFO and HACCP procedures related to perishable products, working in line with food control plans, Simply Safe and Suitable.
Ability to work independently, make effective decisions, or escalate as needed.
Prioritize workload to meet truck arrivals and outgoing orders.
Ideally hold a forklift license and have previous stores experience.
Knowledge of Health & Safety and manual handling practices.
Experience using PPE and manual handling techniques.
The benefits

Full-time, permanent position, minimum 60 hours per fortnight.
Hourly rate $27.00 - $30.00.
