An exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) Nurse Educator on a full time, permanent basis has arisen. You'll be based at Wellington Regional Hospital overseeing the education and development of all health care assistants, enrolled & registered nurses, duty nurse managers and at times registered midwives within the Bureau.
The IOC is responsible for the effective operational management of the 24 hours/7 days hospital service delivery at both Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital. The IOC supports clinical teams, systems, processes and resources that facilitate safe and effective service delivery across the organisation.
As the Nurse Educator within the IOC, your focus is to provide leadership, to bring about practice improvements and ensure safe and competent practice, while also supporting change implementation. The environment is one of continuous change, you will need to be an advocate for the organisation's strategic direction and change programme while providing education that enables this.
You'll support the Nurse Manager, Associate Change Nurse Manager and programme coordinators such as Trendcare and Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM) to ensure the service requirements are met, and organisation imperatives such as safe staffing and capacity/bed management is delivered continuously by ensuring excellent contemporaneous leadership.
The majority of the work will take place on morning shifts, Monday to Friday, however it is expected that you will be available to work on the afternoon, night and weekend shifts from time to time to ensure the educational requirements of staff working those shifts are met.
You will need to have the legal right to work in New Zealand, and hold a current work visa to be eligible for the role.

The ideal candidate will already have:
Current Annual Practicing Certificate
Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing
Commence Postgraduate Certificate in adult education and training within 12 months of role commencement
Qualification in adult teaching/learning or willingness to undertake same
Leadership skills
Change management skills
Competent in Microsoft Office computer programmes
