An opportunity has arisen within Te Wahanga Hauora Maori (Maori Health Service) of the Hawke's Bay District Health Board as a Kaitakawaenga.
The position will require the successful applicant to work with a team from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday.
Utilising the Whanau Manaaki Model of Care the successful applicant will also provide faultless support for Maori patients and their whanau within the hospital wards in collaboration with the wider Kaitakawaenga team. In this role, there will also be provision to provide cultural support in all relevant activities across the HBDHB that recognises and supports the delivery of the Hawkes Bay health sector vision and values.
This role will give the successful applicant the ability to work within a Maori kaupapa focussed service focussing on supporting and providing impeccable service for whanau.
There is a need to work independently as well as within a team, have excellent communication skills, good time management, a good knowledge base in health and a good understanding of the local Maori community.
A registered Social Worker or Registered Nurse who has worked within a hospital setting would be a great advantage.
A reasonably good knowledge of te reo Maori and Kahungunutanga would also be an advantage.
