About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for someone with the right skills to work with the Mana Ake Team at Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Te Tai Tokerau, to support the wellbeing of taitamariki in Northland.
As one of four Kaiarahi/Team Leaders, you will be at the heart of schools providing day-to-day management, planning and clinical leadership for Mana Ake Kaimahi to support schools and NGO employers to achieve equitable outcomes for Maori, Pasifika and diverse groups.
You will be part of the Mana Ake team that includes Kaiarahi from various locations within Te Tai Tokerau that will initially be reporting to the Mana Ake Implementation Lead.
Responsibilities Providing a mix of intervention models Navigating a path to wellbeing for Tamariki and their whanau Liaising with local schools, health and social services Preparing case notes and reports for the implementation team Leading a non-registered team of talent About the Team/Location Mana Ake, Te Tai Tokerau is a new service development for Northland but part of a national initiative.
Mana Ake will partner with schools to provide a range of wellbeing services to children aged 5-12 years and their whanau.
Mana Ake services will also connect schools with local health and social services to ensure that both targeted and wrap around wellbeing services are in place.
About you To be successful in this role you will have: A current New Zealand health professional registration with a current annual practicing certificate Cultural awareness for the diversity that this service brings Previous experience working alongside taitamariki and whanau Good verbal and written communication skills Strong team leadership skills Excellent rapport building with tamariki and whanau Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
