About the role:We are seeking an experienced Kaiako to deliver our Te Ara Reo Maoriprogramme using our Ako Whakatere methodology and techniques. Teaching involvesbut is not limited to developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauiraand responding to tauira needs and evaluating tauira progress. Rangahau(research) is encouraged for Kaiako delivering this programme. Some flexibilitymay be required to work some weekends and evenings.About you:Applicants should be fluent speakers of Te Reo Maori, have a thoroughknowledge of tikanga Maori and be familiar with Te Reo Maori teaching methodswhich will enthuse our tauira (students).Ideally, applicants will have:A Diploma in te reoMaori or higherNZ Certificate inAdult Tertiary Teaching (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or be willing to completeduring the first year of employmentNational Certificatein Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education (NCALNE) L5Full and current NZDriver Licence Experience:Teaching te reo MaoriAko whakatere teaching methods of teaching, learning and deliveryFluent in spoken and written te reo Maori and can provide guidance and leadership in this areaAdult teaching experienceWhilstteaching experience is highly valued at TWoA, newly qualified Kaiako withrelevant qualifications but with no or limited previous teaching experiencewill also be considered.As a kaupapa Maori organisation, your willingnessto participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of AhuatangaMaori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.If we'veoutlined a role that matches your skills and capabilities and a workenvironment that appeals, apply today!
