Junior Plastic Fellow

Non-trainee position 12 month fixed term from July 2020. Suitable for an international medical graduate with plastic surgery experience.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Wellington Regional Plastic Maxillo-Facial and Burn service is seeking to recruit a full time junior Fellow to join our Plastic Surgical Unit for 1 year from July 2020. This would suit an international medical graduate with plastic surgery experience in their country or a non-trainee registrar with general experience.
This Fellowship is for a non-trainee appointment and will give an overseas registrar who has finished or near finished their training the opportunity to learn skills and share their knowledge with the other registrars, and participate on the on call and local anaesthetic rosters. This could also suit a non-SET trainee working within New Zealand with general experience.
The reason for the fixed term nature of this appointment is to allow opportunities for registrars from other countries predominantly, to learn different skills to take back to their own country.
Hutt Hospital, located in Lower Hutt and is part of Hutt Valley District Health Board, is a busy 270 bed General District Hospital, serving a population of 145,000. The DHB works collegially with Wairarapa and Capital & Coast DHBs.
The Plastic Surgery Unit provides regional services to Capital and Coast, Wairarapa, Mid Central, Hawke's Bay, Nelson/Marlborough and Whanganui DHBs servicing a population of over 1 million people. In addition, the Unit provides supra-regional services in vascular anomalies, laser and craniofacial surgery.
