Your role
An exciting opportunity exists in Melbourne Mergers & Acquisitions team for a Junior Legal Secretary. In this busy and fast-paced role, you will provide vital support to our high performing team and will contribute to our success as a leading professional services firm. This is a full time permanent role and would be a great opportunity for someone wanting to develop their experience in the legal industry. We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong typing and formatting skills, an ability to multi task and to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
As a key addition to this team, some of your responsibilities will include:
file management
monitoring emails and taking telephone calls
diary management
typing general correspondence and working in documents
drafting correspondence, document preparation and amendments
reconciling corporate AMEX expenses
monthly billing in accordance with client requirements
document management ie. editing of documents, mark ups etc
other ad hoc duties as required
What you need
The successful candidate will, ideally, be a junior Legal Assistant/Secretary with six months to 1 year of experience and will also possess:
Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
The ability to clearly and confidently communicate at all levels
Advanced MS Word skills, including document creation and presentation
Strong understanding of MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and other software
A demonstrated commitment to high internal/external service standards
An adaptable and flexible nature
A proactive approach and high levels of initiative
