New Zealand Institute of International Understanding is looking for students to volunteer abroad!The Japan Empowerment Program will help students: Gain hands-on experience in the field of international education and cross-cultural education Develop skills and techniques to careers in an international workplace Understand work ethics in the Japanese cultural context
The program involves students going to different locations around Japan and taking part in discussions with Japanese high school students on empowerment-related themes such as independent thinking, valuing personal responsibility and individualism. Further, students will stay with Japanese host families which will give them a very personal experience with the Japanese culture. The Japan Empowerment Program is fully-funded. We will cover the following: Airfare (round trip ticket to Japan from New Zealand) Inbound Travel Insurance Accommodation Meals (all meals except weekend lunch) Transportation (school commutes only) ELIGIBILITY: Must be a student enrolled in a three year (or more) degree at the University of Auckland Must be between 18 and 28 years old (Under 25 for undergraduates and up to 28 years of age for postgraduates.) Must have a recent passport Holder of passport that is exempt from visits up to 90 days in Japan Apply now!
