Join newly established teams, working in a unique and complex environment using modern scaled agile ways of working to deliver technology to support the NZDF.
The team:
Within our newly created Enterprise Products and Systems (EPS) team you will part of a team of Service Designers working across the EPS Product Portfolio.
Initially you will work in the Platforms Technology Tenancy Product Team which delivers core modern compute platform services (e.g. cloud platforms and compute) that are the foundation of the Defence Information Environment (DIE). The Tenancy Team manages and supports the platform that provides both non-production and production environments, as well as key workflow and management tools, for the purposes of testing, simulation and development.
The Platforms team has overarching accountability for all compute products, within the Platform domain, including the sourcing of IT products and systems as required. The others include Database Platforms, Compute and Storage (Public and Private, Hybrid computing) Platforms, ERP Platform, Middleware Platform, Website & Container Hosting Platform and Geospatial Platform.
The role:

Working closely with the Service Management team you will design the Product service wrap that integrates with established ITIL processes.
You will also negotiate service levels and establish the required support to deliver these products. You will actively analyse any service or process failures within existing products and services and identify associated root causes, and help to improve product performance.
You will have the ability to logically align, sequence and understand the importance of loosely coupled products, product components and service management components within a complex systems and services environment.
You will take a standards based approach utilising existing product and service management building blocks where possible and identifying new ones if required. BEFORE YOU APPLY
Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for.
The majority of roles in the CIS branch within NZDF require a high level security clearance at either Secret or Top Secret Level. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for the high level security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:
• most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last ten years, OR
• is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last ten years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
Please note we also have a small number of roles requiring Top Secret Special clearance. These roles require fifteen years continuous residence in the above countries.
If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application. Use this online tool to self-check your eligibility for a security clearance. Please note that this tool is not part of the formal security clearance process: *****
