Transpower connects New Zealanders to their power system, through safe, smart solutions for today and tomorrow. Convergence of Information Technology (IT) systems used for data centric computing with operational technology (OT) systems used to monitor events, processes and devices, will continue and accelerate into the future. Ensuring Transpower has the right mix of permanent and temporary resource capability within our complex information technology division will be essential to enabling Whakamana i Te Mauri Hiko - Empowering our Energy Future.
Our Information Services and Technology Division (IST) includes the collaborative Applications Services team who are responsible for ongoing development and support of Transpower\'s mission critical and core applications. Whilst managing and maintaining platforms and applications to defined Service Level Agreements, the team also delivers a large capital programme of work aligned to an agreed business plan.
The Resource Manager is a pivotal role that will work collaboratively with the both our IST and People Divisions.
About the role
You\'ll be responsible for recruiting and managing all non-permanent staff (both contractor and vendor) creating essentially required bandwidth for Applications Services Managers and maintaining a highly engaged and high performing on demand resource team. You will work with Transpower managers to ensure pre-hire and induction is effective so non-permanent resources are productive from day one. Through building positive relationships and effective planning and processes you\'ll ensure;
Fit for purpose, on demand contract and vendor resources available as required
Contractor/vendor procurement and resource recruitment is efficient and enables a cost effective, highly productive and engaged non-permanent workforce
Managers are supported and developed so workforce planning and efficient and effective contract recruitment practices become second nature
The providers of non-permanent labour to Transpower fully understand our resource requirements and are trusted partners/service providers
Contractors at Transpower are high performing and their experience within IST ensure they become Transpower advocates

What will you bring?
Commercial savvy with budget management experience and demonstrable experience in workforce and/or resource management
Good understanding and experience of the IT talent market in New Zealand and offshore centres
Demonstrated ability to lead people via both influence and reporting line and enable high performance.
Experience in change management practices and principles and experience leading though change whilst building capability at all levels
Good understanding of project management principles
Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
