Internal Auditor

We are looking for an exceptional Internal Auditor to join our collaborative and hardworking Legal and Commercial team.

This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering all internal audit services to Council and its subsidiaries where appropriate. This includes ensuring an internal audit programme is developed and maintained focusing on key risks and opportunities for improvement across the business.

Reporting into the Team Leader the internal audit role will coordinate and deliver the annual internal audit programme, and ensure reports are compiled for management and the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. It is also responsible for monitoring the follow up actions arising from the internal audit programme. This position will work closely with external audit providers to streamline audit processes.

You will be delivering our internal audit programme, therefore, 5+ years internal audit experience is essential along with a demonstrable knowledge of creating and delivering a risk based internal audit programme in a multi-disciplinary complex organisation. In addition to this it would be an added bonus if, you have experience in local government or hold a current membership of a relevant professional body.

You will possess well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work at all levels of the business, and thrive on the opportunity to use your excellent analytical skills to analyse complex issues, provide solutions and communicate these clearly to a range of stakeholders.
