Inpatient Orthopaedic Physiotherapist – Dunedin Hospital
Parental Leave cover for 12 months, commencing August 2020
Fixed term, part time (36 hours/ week)
About you
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic team-player to join our inpatient orthopaedic team while one of our team members is away on parental leave. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be proficient at managing and prioritising a caseload within the inpatient setting. This role requires a commitment to develop your own skills while supporting the growth of students, junior staff and the Allied Health Assistant workforce. Experience in task delegation and interprofessional skill sharing would be advantageous.

Dunedin Hospital is a tertiary care facility and our orthopaedic team cover acute/trauma and elective surgical specialities. We take pride in supporting our staff to grow and we enable ongoing professional development including regular team in-services, staff mentoring and peer review, a comprehensive on-call competency training framework, and access to course and conference funding. Our team run simulation training sessions to enhance education for our staff and students, and we work closely with the University of Otago’s School of Physiotherapy supporting student education throughout clinical placements.
