The Role:
Due to impressive and sustained growth a position exists for a talentedInfrastructure/Systems Engineerto join a warm and innovative team. In this role you will be accountable for providing solution design and technical implementation excellence; and as a proven engineer and technologist you will bring a pragmatic approach to problem solving that enables you to deliver high quality outcomes as an individual and a team member.
You will be part of a team that is responsible for managing SaaS infrastructure located in multiple data centres globally. You will primarily be responsible for managing the network, virtualisation and the operating system within those data centres. You will also become a subject matter expert of the platform and provide 3rd line support when required.
In addition, you will be experienced with cloud services and be involved in the migration of the platform to AWS and have an opportunity to work with the latest and greatest technologies.

Responsibilities and Duties include:
Monitor, action and resolve technical issues effectively and in a timely manner
Proactively ensure highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Work on projects. Perform upgrades for IT infrastructure software and hardware
Manage virtual and physical servers and storage
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and hardware devices
Update and maintain IT documentations and inventory
Ensure that a high quality of service and customer focus is maintained at all times
Automate tasks to minimise downtime, and improve consistency
Provide Out Of Hours support on an on-call roster/rota basis
Respond to high level business critical issues to ensure continuity of service within agreed SLAs
Implement, test and deploy upgrades and fixes onto the live platform
Support load tests and troubleshoot carrier, network and application issues.
Use your system knowledge and technical skills to identify and document ways of improving monitoring and system resource utilization
Address any ad-hoc requests that are raised to the team. Liaise with service providers technical/support personnel to implement and troubleshoot networking/telephony issues.
Manage security, system capacity, configuration and network/hardware upgrades.

Knowledge and Abilities
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
Demonstrated strong skills with Juniper
Demonstrated strong skills with Cisco
Experience with firewalls, ideally Fortinet
Experience in managing virtualised (VMware) and cloud (AWS) environments
Networking Routing, Switching
Storage SAN
Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, WSUS)
Backup methodologies and disaster recovery
Understanding of VoIP/SIP technologies
Must be able to work autonomously
Strong troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent time management, planning, and organising skill
Be a self-starter and quick learner who is not afraid to ask questions - must
Be proactive in troubleshooting and be able to resolve problems

Essential Skills & Experience
Must be certified and/or demonstrate 3 years experience with the following:Juniper
Cisco
VMWare
Microsoft Windows

Experience with scripting/development/automation
Experience or interest with SRE principles
Experience with Incident Management
Experience with analysing network traces (eg: Wireshark)
Experience with monitoring tools

Bonuses
Experience working with AWS
A familiarity with DevOps methodology is highly regarded
Exposure to Terraform, Packer or Chef
Experience working with log aggregation tools such as Sumologic or Splunk
