About the role:
The role of Information Security Consultant at Westpac is to provide specialist consultancy advice to our business units and IT teams on information system security risks and controls. This role is crucial for all business projects and system implementations and you'll be responsible for ensuring change initiatives are delivered in line with Westpac security architecture, policies and standards.
We're looking for an individual with extensive networking, mobile and virtualisation experience in both the operational and consulting areas, to help govern (not design) our security frameworks. You'll champion the management of security risk and will balance meeting our contractual and compliance obligations whilst ensuring our risk management strategies remain effective and are delivered. You will possess a high level of expertise in the areas of Security Risk Analysis, Security Information and Event Management, and new Information Security Technologies.
Our Information Security Group is the focal point within the bank for information system security risks and this role not only manages risk issues within the bank but also across our supplier organisations, including governance of outsourced security processes.
Key Skill Areas:
Comprehensive information security knowledge
Experience with networking (including wireless), mobile application and device security, and virtualised environments
Experience with security information and event management technologies and policy management
Experience assessing and overseeing third party service providers to ensure compliance with customer security requirements
Experience with applicable regulatory and industry compliance requirements (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI DSS)
Data loss prevention technologies and policy management experience would be beneficial
Knowledge of project management disciplines
Extensive IT application and operational knowledge
5 or more years’ experience in Information Security and/or other relevant fields of expertise; and
