Indirect Tax SpecialistJune 6, 2025 We are currently representing a leading international specialist accounting practice with a long-standing presence in the New Zealand market.Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Manager who is looking to step up and take on more responsibility within a dynamic Indirect Tax function.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to accelerate their career, take ownership of client relationships, and play a key role in a technically strong team.This is a rare opportunity to accelerate your career in a supportive, fast-paced environment where your expertise will be valued and your development prioritised.Key Responsibilities:As Tax Manager or Senior Manager, you'll work closely alongside the Partners on complex and high-value indirect tax briefsWorking with clients on Cross-border transactions, property transactions and financial structuringDelivering high-quality, practical advice on GST, Customs, and FBT matters to a variety of clientsDay to day will include reviews, managing client relationships and handling the higher level technical projects that will come through.Broad portfolio of clients which includes NZ listed and commercial entitiesResearch and apply relevant GST and Customs legislation to complex client issues, producing high-quality written and verbal recommendations.Keeping up with tax legislative changes and ensuring insights are reflected in planning.You would be managing a team of Senior and Junior tax consultantsIdeal Candidate:Prior tax compliance & experience within a CA firm, preferably Big 4 or mid-tier firm would be ideal.A genuine interest in indirect tax, with a passion for keeping up to date with legislative developments.Strong communication, client and stakeholder management experience.Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand client operations to identify risks and opportunities.Experience in using Xero, APS, CCH and/or TaxLabCA, CPA, ACCA ICAEW qualified or working towards it.Strong writing skills, consistency and quality in all client deliverables.The firm believes in an open door policy and offers a strong and collaborative work environment which emphasis teamwork, support and an engaging and social work environment.If you're an experienced Indirect Tax professional or at the Consultant or Senior Consultant level and this opportunity interests you, we'd still love to hear from you.
