In-House Business Development Lawyer

Overview:Our client is a long-established provider of wealth planning services to high-net-worth individuals around the world, helping protect their assets and legacies for over 40 years.They are now looking for a motivated legal professional to join their growing team in Tauranga.
Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this role is responsible for converting new client leads into confirmed sales, managing the legal elements of the onboarding process, and ensuring a seamless handover to internal client service teams.
You'll also play a key part in maintaining and growing relationships with referrers and supporting wider business development initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Liaise with prospective clients and referrers regarding the establishment of trust, foundation, and corporate structuresDraft and review trust, company, and other legal agreements, ensuring alignment with client needs while protecting the business's interestsParticipate in introductory calls with clients and referrers, clearly communicating product and jurisdictional advantagesIdentify and develop new referrer relationships, converting leads into long-term contacts through ongoing engagementConduct market research to grow and strengthen the referrer networkContribute to marketing activities, including content creation, webinars, videos, client visits, and conference presentationsStay current by undertaking relevant training and development opportunitiesSupport the Director of Business Development with special projects, strategic initiatives, and promotional activitiesAbout You:1-2 years PQE, ideally looking to transition in-houseCommercial law experience advantageous but not essentialStrong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and communication skillsConfident using technology and quick to learn new systemsProactive, professional, and client-focused with a warm, engaging styleMust be eligible to live and work in New ZealandWhat's on Offer:Competitive salaryModern office based in central TaurangaPerformance-based incentive schemeFriendly and collaborative global team of over 25 professionalsFlexibility with early start/early finish options to support lifestyle or family needsThis is a full-time (40-hour per week) role based in Tauranga.
