This is mahi that will improve the health and well-being of everyone in Aotearoa, and we've got an opportunity for you to be part of it… Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity Te Whatu Ora Improve takes a whole system, consumer, whanau-centred and equity led approach to accelerate improvement and innovation underpinned by best evidence, data and evaluation. In this role, your primary purpose will be to support the Improvement & Innovation Manager to manage a team of Improvement & Innovation roles, including Project Managers, Coordinators, and other specialist roles for specified programmes of work, and to lead and facilitate significant local, regional, and national improvement and innovation programmes and projects. As part of this, you will also work to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation and build capability across the organisation. On a day-to-day basis, you will oversee the delivery of any improvement and innovation projects and programmes currently being undertaken across the business unit. As part of this, you will establish plans, milestones and measures to enable outcomes to be delivered on time and within budget, and you will regularly track, assess and report on these measures. You will also be responsible for coaching, training and mentoring staff and project teams across the projects and programmes, ensuring that best practice improvement and innovation tools and methodologies are understood and being utilised by the teams. You will be an experienced, knowledgable and adaptable Programme Manager, with experience working within health, and ideally in a large organisation. You will be a strong leader with the ability to manage your team effectively, while providing guidance to other leaders on how to manage their teams. You will easily be able to identify knowledge gaps within teams, and support the team members through coaching, training and mentoring to ensure that they are working to the best of their abilities. You will be required to work with a range of teams and leaders across the organisation, in a national, regional and local level in this role so you will need to be an excellent communicator with a strong stakeholder focus, who is able to build strong relationships across the organisation and understand the different needs required in each context. Minimum 5 years' experience in the health sector and/ or relevant programme management/ improvement/ innovation experience. Formal training in improvement and innovation methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Model for Improvement, Double Diamond, Agile) or relevant experience. Management and leadership experience in a healthcare environment. Experience in change management in a complex environment. Proficient presentation and public speaking skills (i.e. talk clearly and engagingly in front of a group referring to visual data or information as required) with all audiences. A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
