Join a leading high quality door manufacturing company who delivers products throughout New Zealand. We are seeking a Production 2IC to join our dynamic team in door manufacturing. This role is 95% hands-on and offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically minded and keen to lead and make a difference. This is working with Timber daily and at a very detailed level. Through their high-quality products, they are currently supplying to New Zealand's leading architecture and construction firms.
Your new role Oversee and participate in daily production activities. Working in a small team, 3 people in your department. Ensure the highest quality standards by maintaining a keen eye for detail. Exercise leadership skills to guide and support the production team. Plan and organise your own daily and weekly tasks efficiently. Maintain patience and composure in a fast-paced environment. This role is very hands-on, working with Wood Products. This is a very detailed and hands-on role that involves working with machinery to cut and measure to very fine detail. There is some travel to grade/select. Purchase timber around the South Island Area. Hours: 6am - 2:30 Monday to Friday What you'll need to succeed Mechanical Minded. Ideally, have an apprenticeship with a carpentry qualification or joinery qualification as this is a very skilled position. Genuine interest in wood and wood manufacturing processes. Able to identify grade timber Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. The ability to plan and manage my own workload effectively. Basic computer skills, emails and excel. Utilise a forklift for material handling (Forklift licence advantageous). What you'll get in return Competitive salary package.
