Our client has grown considerably over the past few years and are looking for a talented, self-driven individual who can keep on top of their growing demand for compliance documentation and practical application of health and safety across both the North and South Island sites.
This newly created varied role will report to the General Manager and is an amazing opportunity for someone to make it their own as well as grow and develop. Your key tasks will include:
Promoting a safe working environment and adhering to MPI rules and regulations Responsible for the day to day management of health and safety on both sites Update and maintain the hazard and risk registers Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommendations implemented with the support of the managers and external H&S consultant Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities. Responsible for researching, gathering and creating operational reports from fuel consumption to tyre usage.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous health, safety and or compliance experience preferred however graduate applications will be considered. Knowledge of the HSWA Excellent customer services skills with the ability to build relationships quickly and with ease Proven experience in problem solving and working to tight deadlines Exceptional attention to detail and able to follow complex process Ability to work independently Strong administrative skills and experience Knowledge of Food Safety, Cold Chain Process, MPI regulations would be ideal Experience of the transport industry would also be ideal.
