MINI THINKERS HR MANAGER We are proud to be recruiting for a newly created role of HR Manager for Mini Thinkers early learning centre in Dunedin. This role has been created to support the current management structure and to provide support and guidance to all staff. The Company Mini Thinkers is an early learning centre for children aged 0-5 years. They have been operating since November 2017 and currently have an occupancy of 99% with 23 full-time employees.
Their mission is to inspire a generation of mini thinkers who are excited and motivated by their own ideas and achievements. They are passionate about their progressive approach to early learning and consistently find ways to improve outcomes for children, families and staff. The Role A “Mini Thinkers Human Resources Manager” (HR Manager) will demonstrate excellent people skills and will be responsible for ensuring all staff are supported. They will also have shared responsibility with our Education Manager for ensuring staff complete their roles and responsibilities to a high standard.
This will involve understanding the Mini Thinkers expectations, offering improvement strategies to staff and collaborating with management to implement change when required. The HR Manager will collaborate with the Director in managing staff accountability and disciplinary processes for employees. This includes responsibility for convening meetings, delivering outcomes, following the appropriate processes and ensuring accurate documentation is completed. The HR Manager will collaborate with the Director and contribute to the professional growth of others.
They will model outstanding professional behaviour and work consistently to strengthen and initiate improvements in the quality of the service. They will also ensure they effectively contribute to the overall vision and direction of Mini Thinkers, to ensure positive outcomes for the business. Core Responsibilities Shared responsibility with the Education Manager for ensuring operational excellenceResponsibility for ensuring staff feel supported, guided and are given opportunities to develop their skillsProvide effective and timely HR advice to management and employees on HR related mattersPlan, prioritise and monitor the operational HR activity needed to achieve business objectives in conjunction with the DirectorSupport management with recruitment and selection processes in line with Mini Thinkers processesSupport management with designing appropriate induction programmes, wellbeing and retention initiativesWork collaboratively with staff to effectively deliver outcomes that align with the Mini Thinkers strategic plan and visionContribute to the development of HR strategies, policies, systems and processesProvide operational HR advice and assistance to management including leadership, culture and change management, employment relations, organisational design and effectivenessEnsure all activities are undertaken in accordance with the Mini Thinkers health and safety policies and procedures and complies with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015), including any amendments The Ideal PersonThis is a newly created role so you will be required to be adaptable, have a willingness to learn quickly and be detail orientated.You will need to have an ability to influence and make good people and business decisions.Knowledge of HR disciplines and processes, and an interest in organisational development practices.Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills.Highly developed writing skills.Strong strategic, planning and project management skills.Proven experience effectively managing/leading a team.If this is the next step in your HR career then we want to hear from you today.
