Please note: "Accommodation and paid" is correct, however the hours you work will cover your accommodation only! Best to get a part time job for extra $$! Hi there, Backpackers! We are looking for one friendly, enthusiastic housekeeper to join our team on Monday April 1st. We ask for a commitment of minimum 2 months but there will be a trial period the first month, during which we will decide if we will extend your contract for another month.So come and experience Christchurch, South Island, NZ and help run an award-winning historic backpacker hostel! This city has so much to offer with beaches, mountain views, a fun night life, luscious gardens and nearby walks, concerts and retail therapy! The hostel is actually a former prison - it will be one of your most interesting experiences and accommodations in New Zealand!Experience and skills in housekeeping are desired but if you don't have the necessary experience but the right attitude feel free to also apply :)You must have a current Working Holiday Visa or the legal ability to work in New Zealand.As a housekeeper, you will help with cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and spring cleaning of Jailhouse Accommodation. Housekeeping is normally between the hours of 10am - 12:30pm, 6x a week and this work covers your accommodation. You'll get laundry money on Saturdays (after being with us for 3 days), and you will have a bed in our 8 bed mixed staff dorm and use of the hostel. You can use a staff bike, wifi, the kitchen, etc too.We can talk about reception work too if you're interested as we do have positions from time to time! Work will be great to add to your CV for future travels, fun with a supportive team, and you will get to meet some great people who are traveling New Zealand and looking to escape from jail!If you are keen, let me know you have: A working holiday visaCan commit till end of May minimum Any experience Then we will consider your application!Prison puns always help ;-) The Jailhouse Team!
