Horticultural Research & Development & Laboratory Assistant Manager- Nelson Area

AgFirst Consultants Nelson Ltd is part of a large horticultural team with a wide range of expertise working throughout New Zealand.
We are active in providing technical knowledge in all horticulture crops with specialist knowledge in pipfruit and kiwifruit.
A growing list of R&D projects means we are looking for someone to support our R&D Manager based in Richmond and sometimes in Motueka. The successful applicant will be involved in a wide range of horticultural activities including providing on orchard and post-harvest research and development trials, providing support for many service contracts to national and international clients, management support of the day to day laboratory operations and staff. This job is varied, and responsibilities will be dependent on the successful applicants abilities to work effectively in a small team and have good communication skills.
The successful applicant must have excellent organisation and time management skills, strong report writing skills, be a team player, be able to relate to a wide range of people, be a good communicator and dedicated and willing to go the extra mile for our clients and be able to think ahead to find positive solutions. Some pipfruit and kiwifruit experience is desirable but not essential and a suitable tertiary degree is preferable but not essential.
