Our Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Australasia with over 100,000 adult and paediatric patients per year providing a wide range of clinical experience. It is a modern purpose built facility providing a wide range of clinical care and is one of two major trauma centres for the Auckland region and supports the National Burns centre for New Zealand.
We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of care to all of our patients. Health Care Assistants are our RNs right hand people. Assisting them with day-to-day tasks of caring for our patients, this is a unique opportunity for you to contribute to our vision of delivering quality patient care.
As a Health Care Assistant you will be required to work under the delegation of a Registered Nurse to provide assistance to patients, ensuring a consistently high quality of care is received.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to learn and work in a complex and ever changing environment. A strong customer service focus is essential.
The ideal candidate will hold a Healthcare Support Certificate (level 3 or 4) or was an overseas Registered Nurse. Preference is given to candidates that have worked in a acute ward or acute clinical area within a large hospital.
