We produce over 2.2 million tonnes of coal each year and proudly employ over 550 people.
About 80 percent of our production is used for steel making, with one third utilized by a local Kiwi steel mill.
Our high-quality thermal-grade coal fuels many iconic South Island food and dairy businesses.Our Maramarua Coalfield is an opencast mine producing low-ash, low-sulphur thermal coal for the domestic market, located 20km south of the Bombays (South Auckland) or 50km from Thames (Coromandel).We maintain a strong health and safety focus and welcome you to join our diverse team.The Opportunity:The purpose of the Health, Safety, Training & Compliance Superintendent is to lead the Health, Safety, and Training functions, ensuring compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation and Bathurst Policies and Standards.
This role reports directly to the Maramarua Mine Manager.The Superintendent is responsible for the management, coordination, and continuous improvement of the Maramarua Mine Health and Safety Management System and supports the Mine Manager and site management.The Superintendent manages a small team of coordinators to ensure smooth operations.What You Will Bring to the Role:Demonstrated leadership and analytical skillsExcellent communication skills and strong relationship managementGood understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislationExperience in a Mining Operations environment is advantageousFormal qualification (ideally in Occupational Health, Safety & Training and/or in Mining)Ability to obtain a Trainer and Assessor Qualification with knowledge of training processes in a heavy industrial workplace.How to Apply:If you share our passion for safety and feel that you could make a meaningful difference in this role, please apply using the 'APPLY' button now.Please Note:Successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and a pre-employment medical.
