Cedenco Foods New Zealand Limited is a leading NZ food ingredients manufacturer with modern agricultural production and processing facilities in Gisborne, Hastings and Nelson, producing a range of value-added food ingredients for both domestic and export markets.
Your new role
This is an exciting new position, working with approx 200 permanent employees and around 700 seasonal workers across the three manufacturing sites (Gisborne, Hastings & Nelson).
There is already a great company H&S culture established, but with continuing growth and expansion, we are looking to engage a dynamic individual, who is familiar with the complex and ever changing manufacturing environments, to take it to the next level and help us deliver world class industry excellence in H&S for our people.
This position requires an experienced H&S professional to provide leadership, direction and strategic advice, as well as be hands-on, working alongside our teams to ensure H&S compliance, regulations and standards are achieved to meet the organisations strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Coaching, leading and upskilling managers and employees
Providing advice, support and assistance to the leadership teams, H&S committees and key internal/external stakeholders
Driving the development and continuous improvement of H&S strategies, plans, policies and procedures, in collaboration with the leadership teams
Actively monitor, review and audit quality standards and compliance to address quality issues or non-compliance
What you'll need to succeed
A higher education qualification in a related discipline
A contagious passion for H&S systems, processes and culture.
Proven ability in the development, implementation, auditing and continuous improvement of H&S systems, preferably in a manufacturing / F&B environment
Well-honed interpersonal and influencing skills
Proven capability to build solid functional relationships through multiple communication channels
Comprehensive knowledge of H&S legislation, regulations, codes of practice and standards, particularly in the F&B industry.
Be a self-starter who's not afraid to muck in and be hands-on.
Be available and willing to travel regularly across all three sites.
