Job Description Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa (formally Family Planning) are looking for a Health Promotion Specialist to be based in either our National Office Wellington, Christchurch Office or our Auckland Newmarket office. We are also open to this role being between 30 – 40 hours per week, please indicate your preferences in your cover letter.
This role reports to the Director of Health Promotion and works alongside our existing Health Promotion Specialist as well as working collaboratively with the wider Health Promotion team.
You will lead the development of specialist learning programmes, content and resources in line with new developments and research. You willcollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create high quality and fit for purpose programmes, in the field of sexual and reproductive health and health promotion. The programmes will be developed with a lens of supporting our vision of equity.
You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating health promotion resources and material to be reflective of best practice in health promotion.
We would love to consider you for the role if you have the following: • Experience/ knowledge in Relationships and Sexuality Education curriculum in an education setting; or development of professional training or community education programmes in the field of public health or community development.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sexual and reproductive health issues, and relationships and sexuality education issues in a professional setting.
• Understanding of child and youth learning methodologies.
• Experience developing health promotion initiatives for Maori, pacific peoples and disabled people.
• Competent and confident user of technology including e-learning platforms and learning management systems.
• Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understanding of strategies to reduce disparities for Maori.
