Health Care Assistant - Icu

ICU/CCU - Timaru Hospital
Permanent, Full Time, 80 hours per fortnight,
Weekdays, 7am to 3.30pm

As a Health Care Assistant in ICU/CCU you will assist with providing care and support to patients under the direction and supervision of nursing staff.
Assisting people who have major health care needs
Utilising well developed communication skills to enhance the patients experience while they are under our care
Keen willingness to work in support of the wider team needs, while seeking assistance when necessary
Taking the initiative, sees something requiring attention and simply does it
Displays sound sensitivity (both cultural & empathy) toward others
Unfailingly maintains confidentiality in all respects
Adopts a friendly and positive approach to their work, colleagues, patients & visitors alike
Committed to delivering safe quality care and client centred services.

In addition to providing this support you will also be required to assist with managing and ordering supplies, housekeeping and other general duties to assist with the smooth running of the department.
